Final coat of pale yellow paint on the walls...
Eeep, using thin plywood underlayment for the walls worked, except some panels kept bleeding through the paint! It still shows a tiny bit, but 3 layers plus a texture layer is all it's going to get. We'll never notice when there are shelves and books there...
This looks SO nice and fresh...and it worked fine on this wall...you can't see the texture in the photos, but it looks really good. Interesting!
This is where the desk and chair will be, beside the low window--now we just have to finish the floor and get the baseboards and shelves in...

Its looking really really lovely now, and such a cheery colour. Many happy hours will be spent working there I think...
ReplyDeleteThank you, Catriona! I'm very much enjoying it...funny, never knew I wanted such a thing till last fall.
ReplyDeleteI love the soft colors of the inside. This will feel so good to be in come winter when it's dreary outside.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's going to be just warm enough! It's like sunshine...
ReplyDeleteYellow was the perfect color choice, Kate! It looks so lovely against that leaded glass window....and the low window....and the open door.... ;-)
ReplyDeleteWait till you see the blue-gray floor! I just shot photos of the first coat...
ReplyDeleteWould you mind sharing the name of the yellow paint you used? It is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I can't, sorry! We had some sort of golden candleight color left over from our living room's paint job 15 years ago, and mixed it with some linen white we also had a partial can of. But thank you! I love it too.
