In case you were wondering...

In case you were wondering...

This blog exists to encourage all those who have ever wanted--and needed!--a tiny getaway close to home. A workshop, playhouse, garden shed, sanctuary, mini-greenhouse, studio, home office; whatever it is you need, it IS doable, with some sacrifice, imagination, and compromise.

It helps if you're handy, too.

A few wee changes

A light by the door, which I should have thought of when we BUILT the place...thanks to our friend Ron Davenport!

And a new little outdoor Hotei to greet us as we arrive...

There have actually been a few more changes, but so far I can't find the photos!  I'll just re-shoot soon...funny how we keep tweaking...

  1. Great light by the door. And your Buddha spot--love that he's smiling! The laughing and smiling Buddhas are my favorites. Keep tweaking! :)

  2. Thank you, Rita! Got more photos of the things that were missing and will get them up soon.

There are a number of legends about that particular figure...he is supposed to represent, among other things, contentment. Some say he brings luck and wealth, but I prefer the alternate--he's often shown with a cloth sack that represents how little he owns, and he's smiling because it is enough.

That twisted wood was an old fence post, isn't it cool?
