In case you were wondering...

In case you were wondering...

This blog exists to encourage all those who have ever wanted--and needed!--a tiny getaway close to home. A workshop, playhouse, garden shed, sanctuary, mini-greenhouse, studio, home office; whatever it is you need, it IS doable, with some sacrifice, imagination, and compromise.

It helps if you're handy, too.

DONE now...I think...

...and yes, a VERY long way from Zen-like simplicity!

But...I do tend to value comfort at my great age, and I need my art supplies, books, cooking area, mugs, pottery, basket, cubbies, skulls, bits of wood, weeds, rocks, oddities, candles, bird seed, heaters...and my goofy chair, which rocks and swivels and lets me see out the windows at a moment's notice, whether out the front or the back...
So one day last week when I was working at the computer over at the house, J. had a bit of shed time himself. He'd been saying he didn't NEED a comfy chair.

We found this one at Olde Towne Mall here in town, the same place we got my chair.  We choose them for comfort, not looks, obviously!

Is this a happy face, or WHAT??  He even took a nap!

But yeah.  I think that's about it, if we're planning to be able to move...

  1. Oh, I totally agree. You both need comfy chairs. It looks so inviting and filled with great clutter. I love it! :):)

  2. I agree with Lisa and Rita, COZY and COMFORT is the way to go, and this may mean less room to walk in--as it is at my house. And that's the name of THAT game...

  3. It IS perfect. SO nice to have him as comfortable as I am...warm, cozy, nappy!

  4. I'm waiting for you two to say you are moving in there totally! LOL

  5. Thanks, Miss Laura!

Toni, I think we would if there were room for a shower and running water!

  6. He looks mighty happy in that cozy chair! I'm all about comfort now too, including my shoes.

  7. Oh, shoes, DEFINITELY! And yes, he does, doesn't he...I'm so glad! Nice to share with my sweetie...

  8. I'm into comfort and cozy too. Don't care if it looks wonky, outdated...that goes for clothes and shoes too...I always hated the looks of recliners, uh, until I got one. It's leather, had it for many years that was never used, just sat next to the fireplace. When I was recuperating from surgery, it was the only chair I could sleep in, now it's my favorite place, my "Nest"...don't know how I lived without it.

  9. Joan, our loveseat used to recline, two sides independently, and I MISS it since it broke. They are definitely comfy!

And yep, I'm not much good at spartan discomfort any more...
