A few wee changes

A light by the door, which I should have thought of when we BUILT the place...thanks to our friend Ron Davenport!

And a new little outdoor Hotei to greet us as we arrive...

There have actually been a few more changes, but so far I can't find the photos!  I'll just re-shoot soon...funny how we keep tweaking...

Why didn't we think of this in the first place??

The shed is 4 years old this summer...why, exactly, didn't we think to have a light put in on THAT side, too, when we had it built?  Joseph's been making do with the light from my desk lamp on the other side of the shed all this time, and when we leave at night, after dark, we stumble over chairs and such to get to the door.  Turning on a light right BY the door is so much handier!

Night Light...

The lighting is working well, though perhaps not quite enough for doing art at night (WONDERFUL for kicking back and reading though--that was a terrific evening).  May still have to go for a studio light for work...

We found an inexpensive little cubby the other day, exactly the right size to cover the electric box.  J. painted it white, and now it holds a variety of small things--hand microscopes, magnifying glasses, matches, salt, and one of my wee gargoyles, among other things...

Still need one by the desk, but this was too perfect...

Let there be...light!

This has to be about the least expensive lighting option EVER.  I had these when I was a kid, and always loved them...Japanese paper lanterns.  This one is a 12", and cost--are you ready?  75 cents.  Yep.  And Amazon offered a deal, this one, a 16" one, and the fixture to go with--the wire and the bulb holder and switch--all three for $5.34. 

The light is very soft but fills the whole room, close to that white ceiling. Nice for reading or making art...

J. got the rack up for me, and I finally found my old enamel wash basin, so that corner's pretty well set.

outside light...

This is the one I really like...hey, it's "only" $100...but the faux RevWar Colonial look ones just don't work, on the shed! (The other one we both liked-it was small and square--was less, but WHITE. Um, no.)

I don't know where I saw the $500 one...must have been made of platinum...

This one has a motion sensor, which I find I really like after a few burglaries in the neighborhood. NOT that I plan to keep anything of any worth in there, because I'm not stupid...the rehab house is fully alarmed but we won't do that on the shed. (Maybe!<;-p)

*Ooops. Joseph just looked at it's NOT a motion sensor. OK, back to square one...)



Meanwhile, here's my morning visitor! He was after mulberries right over the deck, and every time he moved he made a shower of raindrops.
