In case you were wondering...

In case you were wondering...

This blog exists to encourage all those who have ever wanted--and needed!--a tiny getaway close to home. A workshop, playhouse, garden shed, sanctuary, mini-greenhouse, studio, home office; whatever it is you need, it IS doable, with some sacrifice, imagination, and compromise.

It helps if you're handy, too.

The inside of the shed--video

Or find it here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7g2vN0BU7y0

Still needing to build the shelves and get the  rest of the overhead storage done, plus lighting for artwork, but doing great!

  3. Love the tour and the feast of "little touches"
as Rita put it. I sat right down inside my head and had a cuppa.

  4. What a nice, cozy place to zone out...I stopped by the hot plate and made a cuppa tea, I cleaned up after myself when I finished. You'll have so much fun in this playhouse!

Kate: I have one of your Watercolor Basics discs, but nothing on the label tells me if this is a DVD or a CD. Waiting for you to tell me...I've had this for some time...

  5. We already are, joan!

And all mine are CDs at this point...

  6. Kate: This CD opens with a banner, a picture of your CD's available and a big photo of Water Color Basics...this must have been included in one of your books I bought. Nothing seems to play on the CD...is this just advertisement or info about the other CD's that are available in your store/website? Am I doing something wrong?
You have to know that I'm technically challenged, meaning I'm a dummy when it comes to this tech stuff.

  7. Joan: not sure why it's opening on its own - it shouldn't. Rather than discussing it here, please write to Joseph at JosephR4570@hotmail.com and he'll try to help you.

  11. I loved the video tour, Kate! You've outfitted it very nicely. I saw the video too where you were walking to the shed. How nice that you are nestled in the woods. Yay! Now: go make art in your new shed!!!!

  12. Thank you, Krista! It really isn't "in the woods," it's a lot that used to be my garden, facing another lot that used to be a garden, both of which have grown up with young trees, but it FEELS like woods and I love it. In 30 years it WILL be...

I really enjoy my time over there...and yes, I do work in my journal a lot, there! (When we get the shelves built so I have more room for art supplies, who knows what I'll do?)
