The snow melted and the warmer air made everything very foggy...it was silent and BEAUTIFUL.
A day or two later, it was so warm I needed to prop a window open for a while! I'd had a huge snow pile on the deck where the snow had melted off the roof. By morning it was GONE, and over 70 in the shed even with the heater turned to 48.
Needless to say it got cold again, but those winter thaws are SO welcome...I'm already thinking of landscaping and what to plant where. Red twig dogwood for color and food for the birds, I think...and something on the south side...
Oh yeah, a warm, really warm day or two sends one's thoughts to planting and redoing things for sure. Such relief from winter is so life-giving.
ReplyDeleteAnd here I was over the weekend, celebrating rain on one day and snow the next! But we usually are just cold and windy. Getting the rain and snow is a treat besides which, the snow was gone within hours!
Knowing full well the ground is still too frozen to dig a decent hole for the bush! But yes, I really want to get OUT there with a spade in hand...
ReplyDeleteBy the weekend it was pretty chilly here again! I took these photos last week...
So what exactly is that thing you have above the window? Every time I see it I wonder.
ReplyDeleteOh, it's just a piece of broken wood trim I've been carting around for 20 years. It's hand carved and I can't bear to throw it out!
